The VIew From Saturday

In the beginning of the book starts of when Mrs. Olinski gets in a car crash so then she gets paralyzed and her students are worried. Mrs. Olinski goes back and teaches her students in Epiphany Middle School, so then she realizes that the Academic Bowl is coming up so she chooses four 6th graders which are Noah Gershom, Nadia Diamondstein, Ethan Potter, and Julian Singh to participate in the bowl and those four 6th graders call themselves "The Souls". When they now enter at the end they beat the 7th and 8th graders and eventually become the state champions. Then each chapter of the book is a story of the members of "The Souls". So the first person to tell a story is Noah Gershom. Noah is a twelve years old who goes to Epiphany Middle School; he has brown hair and wears glasses. Noah is the first person who gets chosen because he is smart, observant, always has a good answer for everything, is good with words, and is a good leader, not afraid to take charge.

In the second chapter is the first story of the first member of "The Souls". So the story of Noah is different thing that he had to do. He tells about the time he was the best man at his grandfather's friend's wedding and his experience in writing calligraphy. Another thing was that he had to write this report about something he had chosen and he had chosen to do it about turtles.

Then in the next chapter is about Nadia Diamondstein. Nadia is a plump girl with curly red hair and freckles. She moved to New York from Florida. Her story is about when she talks about what had happened to her grandfather Izzy Diamondstein. So what her grandfather tells her that he first married someone else but then she died and he married Ethan's grandmother.

The chapter after that is about Ethan Potter. Ethan is a tall boy with blonde hair and a love for theater. He lives on a farm, and his family is one of the oldest in Epiphany. So his story starts of when he goes to school. Then he talks about how this little kid always follows him. One day he tries to get away from him because he doesn't want to sit next to him in the school bus.

So then the very last chapter and the very last person to get chosen is Julian Singh. Julian is a rather eccentric Indian boy with black hair. He has a British accent because he went to boarding school in England. So then the very last story is when he talks a lot about his mother then how he goes to a tea party that someone invited "The Souls" two people already know the people in the tea party but the other two don't know them. So then Noah introduces them in the party.

Just if you didn’t know Mrs. Olinski is a sixth-grade teacher at Epiphany Middle School and runs the Academic Bowl team, the Souls. The Souls respect Mrs. Olinski and restore her confidence in her ability as a teacher, which had been shaken after a car accident which rendered her paraplegic. At first, she is not sure how she picked her team, but knows later on, thanks to Mr. Singh who gives her a good logical reason.
